Position: Private Rented Sector Officer
Private Rented Sector Offer (PRSO) Officer Wembley, London £23.81 PAYE / £31.35 Umbrella Ongoing Temporary Contract Immediate Start A Wembley-based Local Authority is seeking an experienced PRSO Officer to support the discharge of homelessness duties through Private Rented Sector Offers.

Key Responsibilities Assess households owed a full housing duty and determine suitable accommodation. Conduct affordability and income/expenditure assessments. Make PRSOs in line with the Housing Act 1996, Localism Act 2011 and related legislation. Draft and issue statutory homelessness decision letters (S184/S193). Manage complex homelessness cases, including legal challenges and complaints. Build strong relationships with landlords, agents and partner organisations. Conduct property and suitability visits where required.

Essential Experience & Knowledge Extensive knowledge of Housing Act 1996 Parts VI & VII and homelessness legislation. Experience discharging homelessness duties through the Private Rented Sector. Strong understanding of welfare benefits, affordability assessments and the Benefit Cap.

Experience with in a Local Authority Housing Needs/Homelessness team. Excellent customer service, negotiation and case management skills. Ability to manage complex cases and communicate effectively with legal representatives and stakeholders.
