Rate: £28 – £30 per hour

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 or 11:30 – 20:00

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join their Biochemistry team in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established NHS laboratory, contributing to high-quality diagnostic services. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and professional team, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of patient samples.

Responsibilities:

The role involves performing diagnostic tests within the Biochemistry department, adhering to laboratory protocols and quality standards. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers, utilising Q-Pulse for quality management, sample processing, result validation, equipment calibration, and participating in quality assurance schemes. Flexibility to work independently across different shifts is essential.

Qualifications and Experience:

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• At least 2 years’ post-registration experience in Biochemistry
• Proficient with Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers
• Experience with Q-Pulse quality management system
• Knowledge of UKAS standards and laboratory best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
