Consultant in Infectious Diseases – NHS Scotland
Full‑time post (10 PA, including up to 2 PA SPA). Salary Scale: £111,430 – £148,064 per annum (pro‑rata if part‑time).
About the roleWorking in NHS Forth Valley in the heart of Scotland, you will have three main components to your job plan within infectious diseases: specialty ward duties, inpatient and outpatient specialty referrals, and running the OPAT service.
Additional responsibilities:
For candidates with CCT in general internal medicine, contribute to the general medical receiving rota. Candidates with CCT in microbiology or virology may develop the role in liaison with the laboratory, infection control, and public health.
- Specialty ward duties.
- Inpatient and outpatient specialty referrals.
- Running the OPAT service.
- Contribution to general medical receiving rota (if CCT in general internal medicine).
- Development of liaison with laboratory, infection control and public health (if CCT in microbiology or virology).
- Full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- Royal College of Physicians membership or equivalent.
- Registered with the General Medical Council specialist register for infectious diseases or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a certificate of completion of training (CCT).
- Applicants applying under the Portfolio pathway must be entered onto the GMC Specialist Register at time of application.
- Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development.
- Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.
