An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Dietitian to join our team of over 65 staff at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. King's has a rich history in science and nutrition, with pioneers such as Elsie Widdowson and Robert McCance meeting here in the 1930s, and the British Diabetes Association founded on our Denmark Hill site.
Our Nutrition & Dietetic Department spans three sites:
Denmark Hill, Princess Royal University Hospital, and Orpington Hospital. We lead in specialist areas including cystic fibrosis, critical care, gastroenterology, paediatrics, hepatology, diabetes, renal, complex obesity, and neurosciences. As part of a large Therapy department of over 300 professionals, we work within a supportive structure led by the Head of Department and Chief of Therapies. We place strong emphasis on professional development, ensuring staff can reach their full potential.
We are seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our Adult Cystic Fibrosis team in a substantive role. You will provide dedicated dietetic support to adults with CF, working under the guidance of the Clinical Lead Specialist and alongside an established team, including a Band 8a and full-time Band 7 Dietitian, to further enhance services for this specialist group.
Main duties of the jobThis role offers the opportunity to develop skills across specialist areas including Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Liver, and weight management. Our collaborative MDTs provide a supportive environment where you will gain invaluable dietetic experience in a dynamic setting.
King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of four London-based CF Centres, delivering specialist care to around 300 adolescent and adult patients across London and the South East.
The post holder will work autonomously within a consultant‑led CF MDT, delivering dietetic care to inpatients and outpatients (face‑to‑face and virtual). You will manage nutritional care for all CF patients, contribute to service development, and provide expert advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include home‑care support, MDT research participation, liaison with other specialist teams, and active involvement in clinical and service meetings.
You will be encouraged to lead quality improvement and service development projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with the MDT to provide expert Nutrition and Dietetic care and play an integral role in our large, supportive team. All staff are expected to contribute to teaching healthcare professionals, supporting our mission to deliver excellence in clinical care, research, and education within King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
