Join us at Your Office Toronto as a Sterile Services Technician based at Lewisham Hospital NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust.

Job Summary

• Ensure all products manufactured in the Sterile Services department are fit for purpose, produced efficiently and in accordance with the QMS.
• Contribute towards a safe working environment within the decontamination facilities.
• Work as part of a team, undertake duties directed by the Trust’s management.
• Execute sterilisation, instrument tracking and inventory duties using dual‑temperature steam autoclaves, washing machines and other equipment.
• Record and report any non‑conformances to senior staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and flexible coverage of all areas of the unit.

Main Duties

• Log incoming goods via the T‑Doc computer system.
• Check equipment is present and correct, report discrepancies.
• Complete documentation for non‑conformances.
• Wash and decontaminate instruments per Health and Safety and infection control policies.
• Identify and handle different equipment and specialties.
• Repack and prepare instrument sets for theatres and other departments.
• Use the bar‑coded traceability system to identify packs.

Qualifications

• Essential:
  Experience working as a sterile technician.
• Desirable: NHS background.

Experience

• Desirable:
  Moving and Handling training.
