North Middlesex University Hospital, one of London’s busiest acute hospitals, is seeking an experienced Dietician to join their committed and devoted team.
North Middlesex provides both hospital and community care, helping to keep people in the best possible health at every stage in their lives.
ResponsibilitiesTo provide a comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetic Service to the specialist medical inpatient services at the Royal Free North Middlesex Health unit site.
To explore the provision of outpatient clinics for continuation of patient care within workload capacity.
To take the lead role for the development and provision of education programmes for patients and staff within and out-with the Trust.
To work with the Head of Nutrition & Dietetics, and lead on producing, implementing, and updating department/relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures.
To lead on, and regularly participate in research and audit within the wider Dietetic Service.
To provide cover for other services areas as and when required as per Trust bed pressures.
To participate in seven-day service on a rota basis.
To undertake the planning, organisation, allocation, and training of student training. Multidisciplinary team working, close liaison between acute and community teams, and highly developed skills in communicating with patients, carers, and other service users, is essential. To be responsible for supervision of allocated junior staff. Daily support and regular supervision will be provided by the Head of Nutrition & Dietetics.
Requirements- At least 6 months experience in the NHS within the last 3 years.
- HCPC Registration.
- Degree (BSc or MSc/PGDip) in dietetics or equivalent.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Patience, empathy and the ability to stay calm.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Ability to work in teams and independently.
