Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new, innovative and dynamic team within our expanding Dermatology service. We are looking for an experienced and motivated senior nurse who is passionate about service development and providing a high standard of patient‑centred care. The role involves working closely within a multi‑disciplinary team of doctors, general practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and HCAs, requiring strong leadership and a visible, credible senior nursing presence accessible to staff, patients and their families.
MainDuties
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for Dermatology nursing within Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
- Ensure a cohesive, quality‑driven service that responds to and provides appropriate and equitable care.
- Take the lead role in the strategic and operational management of the Dermatology nursing service, working with the lead medical consultant, Head of Nursing and Service Manager.
- Maintain clearly defined lines of communication with primary health‑care teams to facilitate care of patients with skin diseases.
- Provide specialist care for patients on biologics.
- Develop integrated care and quality improvement across the Dermatology department and act as an active member of the multi‑disciplinary team.
- Champion Dermatology nursing within the wider nursing community, undertaking relevant service development and publications as appropriate.

Person Specification Essential Qualifications- BSc in Nursing or other relevant health‑care profession
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Non‑medical prescribing
- Certificated speciality courses
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Working towards a master’s degree if necessary
- Leadership/management training experience
- Significant post‑registration experience
- Significant experience working in dermatology
- Experience of working as a CNS
- Experience of managing and running clinics
- Broad clinical experience relevant to the post
- Specialist skills and experience in the speciality
- Clinical leadership at a senior level in an acute setting including people, financial and change management
- Experience of managing investigations and resolving complaints
- Experience of conducting research and utilising research in practice
- Undertaking Nurse‑Led Services
- Ability to demonstrate Trust Values

- Experience of developing standards, guidelines and policies
