Specialist Rotational Physiotherapist – Neuro with Trauma
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist with an interest/specialism in Trauma tojoin the Neuro and Trauma team as a static Band 6 Trauma Physiotherapist Therapist. This position will have exposure in Major Trauma, Orthopaedics and plastics wards (with the possibility of rotating internally in the future).You will be given the opportunity todevelop knowledge, skills, and experience with working with those with traumatic brain injury, polytrauma, spinal cord injury, soft tissue injuries including those requiring flaps/grafts and degloving injuries, multiple orthopaedic injuries, and injuries of the organs.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Physiotherapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a wider MDT. You will be committed to your own learning and development and ways to innovate Physiotherapy practice. Being static in this role will allow you to specialise in Trauma; and be involved in audit, service improvement and people and personal development.
Within Bart's Health, we offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete quality improvement and audit projects, and we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists. You will have the opportunities to develop your specialist clinical skills utilising evidence-based practice with support and guidance from our Band 7's and Band 8a
To assist and contribute to organising, developing and delivering a high-quality physiotherapy service provided to a wide variety of in-patients. These patients will have Neurological, Trauma, Respiratory and/or Amputee impairments.
The post will include rotations through Neuro and Trauma wards, Rapid Access to Acute Rehab (RAAR), Stroke services, and the Tower Hamlets Community Neurological Team.
It is expected that this scheme will expand to include rotations into the hyperacute environment of adult intensive care, and musculoskeletal secondary care follow up services to enhance the trauma and neuro pathways.

Person Specification Qualifications- oDiploma/Degree in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration
- oEvidence of continuing professional development and a CPD portfolio
- oPost graduate courses relevant to clinical field
- oSignificant post graduate experience working as a physiotherapist within an acute hospital setting
- oCompleted junior rotations in core specialties of respiratory, neurology, musculoskeletal and elective orthopaedics
- oExperience in Neurosciences/Stroke
- oExperience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- oContribution to clinical education of less experienced staff and/or students or assistants
- oMember of a special interest group.
- oNHS experience
- oBand 6 level experience in Neurosciences/Stroke
- oBand 6 level experience in Major Trauma
- oBand 6 level experience in Critical Care
- oAbility to organise, prioritise and delegate appropriately.
- oAbility to work within an MDT and participate/facilitate safe discharge planning for varied patient diagnosis.
