Key Responsibilities include:
- Acting as a key person to ensure young people feel safe, supported, and happy in their living environment
- Supporting residents with budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing appointments
- Helping residents maintain their tenancy and understand their rights and responsibilities
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to build confidence and resilience
- Assisting in crisis situations and making on-the-spot decisions
- Facilitating access to education, employment, health services, and other community resources
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care/support plans
- Working flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and nights as required
- Participating in training and development opportunities
Essential qualities we're looking for:
- Positive, approachable, and non-judgmental attitude
- Patience, good sense of humour, and resilience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience or willingness to work with vulnerable young people, including those with complex needs such as mental health issues or a history of homelessness
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively
