- Act as an autonomous practitioner for women and their families within the maternity services, providing expert knowledge of multidisciplinary antenatal care and being conversant with all aspects of high‑risk pregnancies, ensuring women are seen in the appropriate time frame.
- Coordinate care pathways for women with pregnancies with medical, obstetric or fetal complications, including where required referral to specialist tertiary units and coordination of follow‑up care.
- Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of pregnant women during antenatal visits.
- Act as an advocate for women, ensuring that they are fully informed and involved in making decisions about their care. Support the Obstetric and Medical Teams to ensure the best outcomes for women.
