Band 6 Audiologist – Paediatric Audiology (Full‑Time, over 4 days Permanent)

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic audiologist with a passion for paediatric care? We are looking for an experienced professional to join our dedicated paediatric audiology team in a permanent full‑time Band 6 role. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a busy yet supportive service that prides itself on improvement and looking forwards.

As a key member of our team, you will bring strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in hearing aid work, supporting the Lead Healthcare Scientist in Habilitation and contributing to the ongoing development of our service. Working within our purpose‑built Children’s Hospital, located in the beautiful and historic city of Edinburgh, you will collaborate with an established group of paediatric audiologists and assistant staff.

Your clinical work will involve providing high‑level care through face‑to‑face appointments at both the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and Lauriston Hospital.

You will deliver diagnostic assessments for children from birth to 18 years of age, using a wide range of techniques including Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Performance Audiometry, Pure Tone Audiometry, TEOAE testing, Otoscopy, and Tympanometry.

You will also play a vital role in hearing aid fittings for children of all ages, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to our national microtia service, including involvement in working within clinics with implantable hearing devices.

Beyond clinical duties, this role offers the chance to shape the future of our service. You will participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and the creation and implementation of SOPs to support new and enhanced service offerings. A clear vision for service development and continuous improvement is highly valued, as these principles sit at the heart of our forward‑looking paediatric audiology provision at NHS Lothian.

Our clinics run Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:00, with the expectation of working 37 hours within these times. NHS…
