Advanced Cardiac Radiographer – Band 7 - Fixed Term Maternity Leave Cover
Due to service expansion, Cardiac Imaging at Bart’s Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer to join a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe.
The department features state-of-the-art equipment, including eleven Cardiac Catheter Labs and an endovascular theatre, three dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners and a dedicated photon counting Cardiac CT scanner. The service is being expanded across the Trust.
Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab experience and knowledge are essential for this post. The role is based within Cardiac Catheter labs, covering cases in complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology and pacing, as well as cases in the cardiothoracic theatre, with potential progression to Cardiac CT and Cardiac CMR.

Responsibilities- Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, offering life-changing and often life-saving diagnosis and treatment to patients from across London and beyond.
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day running of the department and deputise for the Modality Lead Radiographers and the Operational Lead Radiographers in their absence.
- Cover cases in complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology and pacing, and cases in the cardiothoracic theatre.
- Potential progression to Cardiac CT and Cardiac CMR responsibilities.
- Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab Radiographer with relevant experience is essential.
- Experience in complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology and pacing is preferred.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and lead the day-to-day running of the department.
The department operates a popular on-call system to cover out-of-hours Heart Attack and Arrhythmia services. The working pattern comprises 4 x 9.5-hour shifts per week, with flexibility to request a specific day off each week and optional weekend lists on staff bank.
BHTC leads in world-first procedures and undertakes a large amount of research and live broadcasting of cases for educational meetings and congresses, with opportunities to publish research and attend conferences in the UK and globally.
As part of this fast-paced role, you would be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting the Wellbeing and CPD opportunities and ongoing training for Radiographers.
