Location: Greater London

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work at the forefront of inclusive research delivery, with genuine scope to influence practice and drive meaningful change. You will join a supportive and collaborative team and work closely with colleagues to shape a progressive, community-centred approach to engagement and inclusion across the Research Delivery Network (RDN). The role offers a unique chance to make a tangible impact by working with diverse communities, health and social care partners, and national stakeholders to ensure research is accessible, inclusive and relevant for everyone.

The NIHR is the nation’s largest funder of health and care research, committed to improving the health and wealth of the nation through research. This role sits within the South London Research Delivery Network, hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking candidates with excellent communication, facilitation and engagement skills, and with experience of working in community engagement and with underserved groups. If you are motivated by collaboration, equity and innovation, we would welcome your application.

The Research Engagement and Inclusion Manager will play a key role in driving public engagement and advancing inclusive research practice across the South London region. Working collaboratively with communities and members of the public, they will co-produce approaches that embed the public voice in research and lead on data collection, evaluation and impact reporting.

The postholder will oversee public engagement and Research Inclusion operational activities, including regional stakeholder engagement, community engagement, and projects focused on under-served communities, contributing to the delivery of NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) strategic aims at the Regional RDN (RRDN) level. They will lead and influence the collection, analysis and reporting of agreed evaluation and impact measures at regional and national levels, ensuring public perspectives are integrated across RDN and RRDN services.

The role sits within the Research Engagement and Inclusion function of the RRDN and will work closely with the Public Engagement and People and Inclusion teams within the RDN Coordinating Centre (RDNCC), supporting the national Research Engagement Delivery Group to deliver the NIHR‑wide Research Inclusion strategy and embed equality, diversity and inclusion across the RDN.

The NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) supports the effective and efficient initiation and delivery of funded research across the health and care system in England for the benefit of patients, the health and care system and the economy.

Study delivery in England is supported through 12 NIHR Regional Research Delivery Networks (RRDNs). These work with the national Coordinating Centre (RDNCC) and the Department of Health and Care to provide a joint RDN leadership function via the RDN Board, so that the NIHR RDN as a whole functions as a single, transparent organisation with a shared vision and purpose. Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the Host Organisation for the South London RRDN region.
