Head of Private Healthcare Development - Consultant (6 months)
Remote but must come into the London office once a week.
Salary £80k to £95k DOE
OverviewWe are seeking a senior commercial leader to design, develop and drive growth of private healthcare services across GP, digital, and hybrid care pathways. This is a startup environment, brand new position, service line, and entity. This individual will own the end-to-end private patient journey
, lead commercial strategy, and work closely with marketing, clinical operations, and product teams to scale private care revenue streams.
The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen
, a strategic mindset, and proven experience developing B2C and B2B healthcare pathways. They will translate market demand, patient behaviour, and digital trends into compelling service lines and customer experiences.
You must have demonstrable, recent private healthcare sector experience
- Design, define and execute the private healthcare commercial strategy across GP, digital and virtual care.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, private propositions, and market niches.
- Lead pricing, packaging, and value-proposition development for private services.
Private Patient Journey Ownership - Map, optimise, and refine the end-to-end private patient experience
, from awareness to booking to after-care. - Partner with clinical, product, and digital teams to ensure a seamless journey across online touchpoints.
- Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns, funnels, and messaging that attract and convert private customers.
- Ensure alignment between organisational values, brand positioning, commercial goals, and patient expectations and experience.
- Design insights, analytics, and segmentation to support targeted acquisition and retention strategies.
- Identify and define strategic C2C and B2B relationships (corporates, insurers, digital partners, referring networks, customers).
- Represent the private healthcare offering at industry events, within partnerships, and in corporate negotiations.
- Develop and manage referral relationships to drive new patient flows.
- Work with clinicians, operations, and digital product teams to launch new private services and optimise existing ones.
- Ensure services are commercially viable, clinically robust, and aligned with patient expectations.
- Drive digital integration of private GP, diagnostics, remote consultations, and wellness offerings.
- Lead a cross-functional agenda across marketing, operations, clinical, digital, and finance.
- Influence senior executives through data-driven insights and business cases.
- Build commercial mindset and performance culture within the private healthcare unit.
- 10+ years in private healthcare, digital healthcare, consumer health, or related commercial roles.
- Proven success in scaling private GP or digital health services.
- Background in commercial leadership, business development, growth, or service line development.
- Experience owning revenue P&L and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong commercial strategist with ability to identify new growth opportunities.
- Deep understanding of private patient behaviours, expectations, and digital journeys.
- Excellent relationship-builder with a strong network and high emotional intelligence.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a bias toward execution and optimisation.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on tactical levels.
- Blend of strategic thinking (market) and operational grit
- Can identify, manage, customers both direct and business – long term commercial partnerships
