We’re supporting a healthcare transformation consultancy, headquartered in London. They are working with the NHS to scale and embed a strategic commissioning tool. This role sits at the intersection of healthcare strategy, commissioning priorities, and delivery, and will suit someone who understands NHS structures and how commissioning decisions are made in practice.

While the tool has a technical component, the organisation is primarily looking for someone with strong healthcare strategy and NHS programme delivery experience. The ability to work effectively with product and technical teams is important, but deep NHS context and commissioning understanding is the core requirement.

We’ve a preference for you to apply directly via our website as the consultancy will eventually view your profile in our platform. If you are already in the community, feel free to quickly apply here or reach out to your Blackbook contact, but no need to re-apply directly.

Tasks
  • Lead the scale and embed phase of a strategic commissioning tool across the organisation
  • Translate healthcare policy, NHS priorities, and commissioning needs into practical delivery plans
  • Work closely with product and technical implementation teams to ensure the tool is usable, adopted, and aligned to strategic goals
Requirements
  • An independent consultant
  • Strong understanding of healthcare policy, commissioning drivers, and strategic priorities and proven programme/project delivery experience in complex NHS environments
  • Ability to work effectively with product teams and technical delivery functions (even if not a “technical PM”)

Experience delivering within an ICB environment
