Position: PPIE Coordinator (Clinical Services)
Location: Greater London

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Nursing Risk and Quality Division for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Coordinator and work alongside the Head of Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement Lead (PPI/E).

The post holder will be the first point of contact for key stakeholders, including public contributors, and will coordinate meetings, conduct audits, and provide reporting and supervision for PPIE activities. The role is demanding and requires flexibility, initiative, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor PPIE generic email accounts and respond to queries or direct them to the Patient and Carer Advisory Group (PCAG), other patient groups or panels, or the Head of Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement.
  • Provide and receive complex information, using persuasive or reassuring skills to address sensitive issues and barriers to understanding.
  • Administer and coordinate PPIE activities, including organising and administering work groups and focus groups for clinical, nursing, and other professional staff. Manage registrations, invitations, evaluations, record outcomes and provide reports.
  • Type and circulate papers, minutes, timetables, memoranda, etc. for meetings, and support the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other materials.
  • Conduct audits, perform PPI analysis, write reports, and supervise patient and public stakeholders, including managing PPIE Agreements and payment of rewards and expenses.
Qualifications
  • Professional experience of patient and public involvement and engagement, and of communicating with members of the public from diverse backgrounds and characteristics.
  • Working knowledge of the benefits, issues, and initiatives related to PPI/E.
  • Experience in services, community or voluntary environments; previous experience in a health care setting is an advantage.
  • High degree of discretion, initiative, and respect for confidentiality of information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop working relationships and manage complex, sensitive information.
