Job Summary
Senior Lead Pharmacist – HIV & Sexual Health is a rare opportunity to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust following the retirement of the long-standing post holder. It offers the chance to build on an established service legacy and shape the future of HIV and Sexual Health pharmacy services across the Trust.
Main Duties of the Job- Lead, deliver, develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services in the Sexual Health and HIV speciality, including HTLV, HIV PEP, HIV PreP, contraception and long‑acting antiretrovirals.
- Act as a senior pharmacy leader, managing, developing and training staff within the team.
- Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters, risk management and compliance with medicines legislation.
- Ensure safe use, storage, supply and provision of medicines used for the speciality.
- Facilitate and support the efficient, cost‑effective use of medicines, with emphasis on high‑cost drugs.
- Work closely with service users, families, friends and carers to improve their experience.

- Master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent
- Member of the GPhC
- Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
- Diploma in clinical pharmacy practice
- Significant post‑registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy, including HIV and Sexual Health
- Solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines’ information, aseptic services, ward services and dispensing)
- Previous experience delivering training and education
Demonstrated use of clinical audit to improve practice - Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management
- Analytical problem‑solving ability
- Good computer system skills
- Commitment to the clinical governance agenda
- Appropriate short management courses
- Independent or supplementary prescriber
- Master’s in clinical pharmacy practice
- Working within HIV/Sexual Health clinics or multidisciplinary teams
