Position: Senior Sister/ Charge nurse
Location: Greater London

We are looking for an inspired individual with Cardiology Catheterisation Lab experience to lead our Cardiac Cath Lab Nursing team. The job will be suitable for senior nurses looking to advance their leadership and managerial career. The job offers the unique opportunity to bring your expertise to ensure safe and compssionate patient experience whilst maximising our capacity utilisation through innovative ways.

You will be leading the staff members to deliver high quality care in our Ten Cath Labs tholomew's site. The Cath Lab manages all speacliaties in Cardiology and functions as the emergency Heart Attack Centre for LAS activations in East London. We have 24/7 catheterisation labs offering world renowned emergency care to cardiology patients. You will have a team of highly competent nurses, your peers from other cardiology wards and senior nursing team working collaboratively to achieve the Trust's vision

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to ensure patients receive high quality care whilst ensuring the smooth daily passage of the emergency pathway. The post holder will pro-actively lead and manage the nursing team and help the team to achieve their aspirations. The post holder will actively contribute to realise the service vision and key targets by working closely with the service leads.

The ward manager will partner with the peers to drive incremental innovation to achieve safe and compassionate patient experience.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Evidence of Degree education
  • Registrant with NMC
  • Mentorship course or equivalent

Experience
  • Two years experience and band 6 level
  • Leading teams as nurse in charge
  • Collaborative working with MDT
  • Previous acting WM experience
  • Rostering, appraisal, sickness & performance management experience
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
  • Cath Lab Competencies Intervention, EP and Structural
  • Up to date Cardiac nursing knowledge
  • Understand the principles of incident management and shared learning culture
  • Understanding of competing priorities of the MDT and teamwork
  • Demonstrates advanced communication skills in managing situations
  • IT Skills
  • Audit link nurse experience on any domain
  • Knowledge of improvement based on audit findings
