Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)
This is a fixed-term post to August 2027.
We are excited to advertise this Band 6 full-time, fixed-term post at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust (RBFT).
This post is split across two clinical areas; the post holder will be a key member of both the acute SLT and the voice SLT service, whilst also contributing to the wider SLT service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
You will be joining a team of 22 people, comprising of SLTs, SLT assistants, an SLT apprentice and an administrator.

Main duties of the jobThis post is primarily based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and will include delivering outpatient appointments at other trust sites, including West Berkshire Community Hospital. You will be participating in:
- Contributing to the acute inpatient caseload, providing assessment, therapy and management plans to service users and their families.
- Managing an outpatient caseload and clinic for service users presenting with voice related disorders.
- Working as part of a team.
- Providing supervision and support to other members of the team, where appropriate.
- Contributing to training for other members of the MDT, in relevant areas.

Person Specification Education- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent licence to practice
- Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC
- Evidence of Dysphagia competencies at level C, such as RCSLT framework or attendance at relevant courses
- Competencies in videofluoroscopy or FEES
- Experience of MDT working
- Changing own practice in response to evidence
- Evidence of successful post-graduate study through CPD portfolio
- Experience of developing and delivering training packages to service users, families, carers and MDT
- Well established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist area
- Knowledge of standards of record keeping
- Awareness of other relevant policies including Vulnerable adult/other relevant legal frameworks.
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance/audit including RCSLT clinical guidelines
