Job Overview

The role of the pharmacy Support Officer (QA) is a varied one, you will never be bored. You will be working within the Quality Assurance area of Pharmacy alongside the Aseptic unit, a specialised clean area where injectable products that treat chemotherapy patients or are used in diagnostic tests are manufactured.

Main Duties
  • Environmental monitoring of the aseptic unit
  • Disinfecting and transferring work into clean room hatches and isolators
  • Data entry of paper and electronic records
  • Daily and monthly temperature monitoring
  • Approval release of aseptic consumables
  • Approval release of the rental laundry
  • Filing of prescriptions and documentation according to local policy and procedures
  • Disposing of different types of waste, according to local policy and procedure

About the Aseptic Unit

The Aseptic Unit is a specialised clean area within Pharmacy where injectable products that treat chemotherapy patients or are used in diagnostic tests are manufactured. The Aseptic service also supplies ready‑made chemotherapy, intravenous nutrition and other products to hospital patients. The team consists of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Senior Pharmacy Support Officers and Pharmacy Support Officers, all of whom play an important role in providing high‑quality medicinal products to patients.
