Band 3 Generic Support Worker

Join Croydon Health Services NHS Trust as a Band 3 Generic Support Worker within our Community Therapy Team and help people regain independence through practical, goal‑focused rehabilitation. You will work closely with qualified therapy and nursing colleagues, following care plans to support service users with rehabilitation and functional tasks that promote recovery and day‑to‑day independence.

• Visit people in their own homes, care homes, and intermediate care beds across Croydon.
• Follow individual care plans set by therapists, delivering strengthening and balance exercises, mobility practice (with or without walking aids), transfers and stair practice, and functional rehabilitation including personal care and activities of daily living (e.g., washing, dressing, kitchen tasks).
• Observe, evaluate, and report progress to senior colleagues during handover and MDT meetings.
• Seek guidance from qualified staff about the safe progression of programmes and goal achievement.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to risk, identifying signs of deterioration, escalating concerns to senior clinicians, and maintaining safe practice during mobility, transfers and exercise delivery.
• Keep up to date with mandatory/core skills training, attend team meetings and appraisals, and work in line with Trust policies.
• Travel across the borough of Croydon is essential.

• Friendly, reliable, self‑motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
• Genuine interest in healthcare, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering high‑quality therapeutic support.
• No specific qualification required.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle for work purposes.
