A permanent post to establish and run an exciting new Thoracic Prehabilitation service across RBH and HH in alignment with an already established service at Guys Hospital

The role includes both virtual and face to face assessment of patients undergoing thoracic surgery for suitability of an exercise group, and running of the exercise group. The role also includes education of patients regarding their upcoming surgery and post-op recovery.

The post holder will be required to work cross site at RBH and HH, with access to a free shuttle bus.

The trust has a strong research identity with other benefits of working at the trust including 10 days of study leave a year and comprehensive In-service training programs.

Undertake a high specialist team leader role alongside the physiotherapy clinical specialist in delivering the physiotherapy prehabilitation service to patients undergoing Thoracic Surgery.

To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have highly complex needs, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.

To be responsible for the supervision of junior team members within the prehabilitation physiotherapy team.

To work collaboratively with wider members of the Rehab and Therapies department to provide high quality care for prehabilitation patients.

To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of the prehabilitation team.

To play a significant role in the continuous development of the Trust as a member of the Rehabilitation & Therapies Management team and as a potential member of a range of Trust quality/ process improvement project groups.

To support co-ordination of daily allocation of workloads within the physiotherapy team.

To implement a cohesive working relationship with key stakeholders.

This role will require staff to work in a variety of clinical areas including virtually.

This role is predominantly based at RBH but the post holder will need to work cross-site as required.
