Registered Nurse - Oncology & Palliative Care | Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurseto join our dedicated oncology nursing team in the Chemotherapy Day Unit. In this pivotal role, you will deliver expert, patient-centred care to a defined group of patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments, ensuring the highest standards of practice in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code and Trust guidelines.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse who is passionate about oncology care and has an interest in Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments. They should be enthusiastic, hardworking, kind and compassionate and should be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, the unit is open Monday-Friday 9am-7pm.
- Provide specialist care and clinical leadership within the ward or department.
- Safely administer chemotherapy and intravenous treatments in accordance with Trust protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge and act as a role model for best practice.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives, including audits and risk management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to enhance the patient experience.
