Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

About the role

We are looking to recruit an Environmental Health Officer/Enforcement Officer to join our Food and Health & Safety Team with responsibilities primarily for food safety and health & safety interventions, Infectious Disease Control, accident investigations, special treatment licensing, and smoke free enforcement.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are looking to make a difference and contribute to the Borough's wellbeing with opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of commercial settings; explore opportunities and take part in regular high profile projects to improve the health and wellbeing of the Borough’s visitors and businesses. Consideration will also be given to newly qualified EHOs who have signed up to the CIEH EHP pathway to registration.

To be successful you will need to have a professional qualification to undertake food and health & safety interventions e.g. Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environmental Health or NEBOSH and registered with the CIEH/IOSH. You will also need to have a good working knowledge and understanding of food and health & safety legislation as well as experience of investigating food and health & safety complaints, infectious diseases, RIDDOR, and enforcement action
