Role Description

The Senior MRI Radiographer is a full-time, on-site role based at Chenies Mews Imaging Centre in London. The role involves performing and overseeing a wide range of MRI examinations, including cardiac, neurological, orthopaedic, abdominal, and fetal studies, while ensuring high standards of image quality and patient safety. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and positioning patients, operating MRI equipment, optimising scanning protocols, and monitoring patients throughout procedures.

The Senior MRI Radiographer will support junior radiographers, coordinate workflow, collaborate with radiologists and referring clinicians, and contribute to protocol development and service improvements. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, adhering to regulatory and safety guidelines, and providing clear, compassionate communication to patients and colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Medicine as it relates to imaging, including anatomy, pathology, and clinical indications for MRI.
  • Relevant professional registration (e.g., HCPC registration as a Radiographer) and a degree in Radiography or an equivalent qualification are required.
  • Substantial post-qualification MRI experience, ideally including cardiac and 3T MRI, and experience mentoring or supervising radiography staff are highly beneficial.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with advanced MRI techniques, protocol optimisation, and quality assurance processes is an advantage.
