Join us as a Medical Science Liaison in our Oncology Business Unit, where you'll be an ambassador for AstraZeneca's Oncology portfolio. You'll engage in scientific exchange with Key External Experts, Health Care Professionals, and Clinical Investigators, identifying medical unmet needs and evidence gaps in our product portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to leverage skills from across the business to go further and join a cross-functional team, working together and sharing knowledge across teams, roles and levels.
Accountabilities:As a regional field medical affairs expert, you will support research discussions with clinical leaders in your dedicated region, own relationships and partnerships with priority KEEs to support professional development, share knowledge and insight with cross-functional colleagues, and engage in account level cross-functional working with various stakeholders. You'll also maintain an understanding of local health economy and how that interacts with the patient pathways relevant to their therapy area.
EssentialSkills & Experience
- Advanced degree in life sciences or a relevant healthcare qualification (e.g. Nursing, Pharmacy)
- Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong understanding of clinical pathways, healthcare system delivery, and the barriers to optimal patient care
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, drive innovation, and adopt new ways of working
- Sound knowledge of evidence-based medicine and its application in clinical practice
- Working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application
- PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent advanced qualification and/or relevant industry experience
- Experience or expertise in oncology and/or gastrointestinal (GI) diseases
- Knowledge of clinical trial design, conduct and regulatory requirements, ideally supporting a therapy area portfolio
- Experience working with NHS organisations and managing stakeholder relationships across healthcare systems
- Experience supporting collaborative working initiatives, real-world evidence/data projects, or healthcare partnership programmes
