Main

duties of the job

Supporting a structured routine for the young people offers containment to the family and young person, mirroring this we recognise the benefit a structured timetable offers to staff so in place we offer weekly meetings at 2pm, which include nurse led teaching, group discussion, MDT meetings, monthly team reflective meetings and a weekly facilitated nurse support meeting.

We believe that every interaction with a young person is an opportunity to be therapeutic. Recognising the impact of the work, alongside the weekly reflective group meetings we support monthly individual supervision. Offering greater autonomy to the nurses, provides young people with greater collaboration and empowerment opportunities in their treatment journey.

The role involves supporting junior nursing staff and encouraging their development, this includes staff nurses from child and mental health backgrounds, experienced therapeutic care workers and healthcare assistants.
