Position: Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist - Echo Mat cover
Location: Greater London

The successful applicant will join an innovative and expert team within the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust, the post holder will be based at the echocardiography service at North Middlesex University hospital which has recently achieved departmental BSE TTE and training accreditation where candidate will participate in delivering the echo service.

The individual must hold a BSE TTE level 2 accreditation or equivalent and has relevant NHS experience in cardiac

physiology field. The individual will work alongside the team of 7 other accredited echocardiographers and with the wider cardiac physiology team to perform

transthoracic echocardiograms as well as assist with stress and

transoesophageal echocardiograms.

As a teaching hospital the successful candidate will be expected to support our trainee echocardiographers to achieve their BSE accreditation. The echo service is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and also provides inpatient/outpatient weekend service. The individual will be expected to participate in this comprehensive service

whilst a flexible working pattern can be supported.

The Post Holder Will Be Expected To

Demonstrate expertise in echocardiography ensuring that the service model provides demonstrably high-quality patient care within clinical gudielines.

Closely liaise with medical staff to assist patients management if required based on echo findings.

Participate in the local echo MDT discussions.

Provide educational presentations in the field of echo to colleagues

Assist clinicians in running the advanced echo services such as stress, TOE, contrast

and bubbles echocardiograms

Demonstrate working knowledge of the full range of investigations.

Demonstrate leadership qualities, provide support to junior team members and carry out organisational and supervisory duties.

Demonstrate a professional approach to patient care and be able to communicate with patients clearly. Effectively communicate with other colleagues.
