We are seeking a Recovery Worker/Outreach Practitioner specialising in Substance Misuse to join our dynamic team in Harrow, Merton, and Redbridge. This rewarding locum position offers a competitive hourly rate of £22 and is initially a 3-month contract with the potential for an extension. What you will do:
  • Engage with and support individuals dealing with substance misuse issues, focusing on personalised and compassionate recovery plans.
  • Conduct outreach activities to identify individuals in need and offer harm reduction advice and resources.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and community groups to coordinate comprehensive care for service users.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, maintaining accurate records to ensure consistent support and progression in their recovery journey.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops to encourage peer support and shared learning among service users.
Requirements for the role:

You will have recent experience in roles related to Substance Misuse, Substance Abuse, Addiction, Drug and Alcohol, Needle Exchange, or Recovery. Holding relevant qualifications or certifications is essential to provide high-quality care and guidance to individuals in need.
