About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join Haringey Alcohol and Recovery Service (HAGA) as a Non-Opiate Recovery Coordinator .

As a Non-Opiate Recovery Coordinator, you will support people experiencing difficulties with non-opiate substance use to make positive and sustainable changes in their lives. You will manage a caseload of service users, providing person-centred support throughout their treatment journey, from initial engagement through to structured treatment and sustained recovery.

You will support individuals to achieve their goals, which may include reducing substance-related harm, changing patterns of substance use, achieving abstinence and accessing additional treatment or support where appropriate.

You will also be required to maintain accurate and timely records using case management systems, ensuring that information is recorded in line with service requirements and organisational standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of service users , completing assessments, risk assessments and personalised recovery plans, and regularly reviewing progress against agreed goals.
  • Deliver effective psychosocial interventions and structured treatment , supporting individuals to reduce substance-related harm, change patterns of substance use and work towards recovery.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with service users , supporting their progression from initial engagement through structured treatment and towards sustained recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to provide holistic, wraparound support and achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for individuals.
  • Maintain high-quality case management and service records , ensuring client information is accurate, timely and recorded in line with organisational and service requirements.
About you
  • You will have experience of working in a client-facing role , either in a paid or voluntary capacity, and be confident using active listening and communication skills to engage and support people.
  • You will be compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred , with a genuine commitment to helping people make positive changes in their lives.
  • You will be organised and able to manage a caseload effectively , with the ability to prioritise your workload and respond appropriately to changing needs and risks.
  • You will be a confident communicator and collaborative team member , able to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues and external partner organisations.
  • You will be confident using IT and case management systems , with a strong understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping, alongside a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering high-quality support.
