Job PurposeThe Dietetic Associate Practitioner (DAP) delivers high-quality, protocol-led nutrition and behaviour change support for adults living with obesity and related long-term conditions. Working under the supervision and delegation of a registered dietitian, the DAP provides structured patient education, routine follow-up, lifestyle coaching and monitoring within clearly defined clinical pathways, ensuring patients remain engaged and receive consistent, evidence-based care. The role is primarily focused on supporting patients within the Wraparound pathway, where care centres on sustainable behaviour change rather than medication management or complex dietetic assessment.
The DAP plays a key role in maintaining patient flow, identifying clinical or behavioural concerns that require escalation, and supporting safe, efficient service delivery through accurate documentation, adherence to approved protocols and close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. By undertaking protocolised clinical and administrative activity, the role releases registered clinicians to focus on complex decision-making, supervision, governance and service development, supporting Roczen's ability to deliver safe, scalable digital care.
and Accountabilities
- Experience Foundation Degree, Assistant Practitioner qualification or equivalent Level 4 qualification in a health-related subject, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting patients in a healthcare, community or wellbeing setting.
- Experience delivering patient education or behaviour change interventions.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good understanding of nutrition, healthy lifestyles and person-centred care.
- Knowledge of nutrition, healthy eating and behaviour change principles.
- Understanding of obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, information governance and consent.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, delegated practice and recognising limitations of competence.
- Awareness of clinical governance, patient safety and risk escalation processes.
