Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit a Senior Optical Assistant or Qualified Dispensing Optician for an independent practice in Hatch End, London. Offering £30,000–£40,000 depending on experience, this full-time position will suit someone seeking a stable, patient-focused role within a personable practice.

Working Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm, you will support dispensing and laboratory work within a small optical team. The practice is closed on Sundays and Mondays. You will work alongside the owner/director and existing Optical Assistants, with an experienced colleague available to provide training and support during the transition.

Experience with Optics Operations systems is preferred. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a commercially driven practice while maintaining a strong independent ethos and delivering a personal service to children, families and older patients.

Our client is a small, independent optometry practice serving a mixed patient base in an affluent area. The team comprises the owner/director, one full-time Optical Assistant and one part-time Optical Assistant, with a focus on personal, patient-centred care and high-value dispensing.

The successful applicant will be either a Senior Optical Assistant or a Qualified Dispensing Optician with experience across dispensing and laboratory work. Experience using Optics Operations systems is preferred.

You should be dependable, personable and able to provide consistent support within a small team. A strong character, a good cultural fit and a genuine commitment to patient-focused service will be important. The practice is seeking someone who can offer long-term stability and, ideally, is able to start within approximately three weeks to support a smooth handover.
