Inside About the Role We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Care Worker to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to older people in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. As a Care Worker, you will play an important role in supporting individuals to live safe, fulfilling and independent lives, while respecting their dignity, choices, preferences and personal routines.

You will build trusting relationships with the people you support and help them maintain as much independence and control over their daily lives as possible. The role involves providing practical and emotional support with a range of daily living activities, which may include personal care, washing and dressing, continence support, mobility, meal preparation, medication support where appropriately trained and authorised, household tasks and maintaining a safe home environment.

You will also provide companionship and encourage individuals to remain socially connected and engaged with the activities and interests that are important to them. This may include accompanying them to appointments, supporting access to community activities, assisting with shopping or errands, encouraging hobbies and interests, or simply spending meaningful time together.

Key Responsibilities As a Care Worker, your responsibilities may include:
Providing high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with each individual's care and support plan. Supporting individuals with personal care while maintaining their privacy, dignity and choice at all times. Assisting with daily living activities, including washing, dressing, eating, drinking and mobility. Supporting individuals to maintain their independence and develop confidence in managing everyday tasks. Preparing meals and encouraging healthy eating and adequate hydration.

Providing companionship, reassurance and meaningful social interaction. Supporting individuals to attend appointments and participate in social and community activities. Assisting with household tasks where these form part of the agreed care and support plan. Supporting medication routines where appropriate, following training, care plans and company procedures. Observing changes in an individual's physical health, emotional wellbeing, behaviour or circumstances and reporting concerns promptly.

Promoting choice, control, dignity, equality and inclusion in all aspects of care. Following safeguarding procedures and recognising and reporting any concerns relating to abuse, neglect, exploitation or risk. Maintaining accurate and timely care records and communicating effectively with colleagues, families and relevant professionals. Respecting confidentiality and complying with data protection requirements. Working in accordance with the individual's care plan, risk assessments, company policies and relevant health and social-care standards.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals to ensure continuity and consistency of care.

Positive, approachable and willing to learn and develop professionally. Experience and Qualifications Previous experience in health or social care is desirable, although we are also interested in applicants who can demonstrate the right values, attitude and commitment to caring for others.
