We are looking for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our team and play a key role in supporting adults experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression. As a PWP, you will provide evidence-based, low-intensity psychological interventions to help service users develop practical tools and strategies to improve their mental wellbeing and move towards lasting positive change.

What you’ll be doing As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, you will:
Assess service users to determine their suitability for evidence-based psychological interventions. Work with adults experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression. Deliver a range of Step 2, low-intensity psychological interventions in line with evidence-based practice. Provide one-to-one interventions on a face-to-face basis. Facilitate therapeutic groups and support service users within a group setting. Develop collaborative and supportive relationships with service users.

Monitor and review progress, adapting interventions where appropriate. Contribute to the delivery of a responsive and high-quality service in line with relevant IAPT requirements and service standards. Actively participate in case management and line management supervision. Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to team performance. What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who:
Is passionate about supporting people experiencing common mental health difficulties. Has a recognised Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) qualification or equivalent relevant training. Has experience of delivering low-intensity psychological interventions. Has an understanding of evidence-based approaches for anxiety and depression. Is confident carrying out assessments and identifying appropriate interventions. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can build positive, trusting and professional relationships with service users.

Is able to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team. Is organised and able to manage a varied caseload effectively. Is committed to reflective practice, supervision and continuous professional development. Understands the importance of quality, safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards. All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete.
