What you will do

  • Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults within community settings.
  • Assess functional ability, independence, and environmental needs with a focus on minor aids and adaptations.
  • Recommend, arrange, and oversee the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations.
  • Complete moving and handling assessments where required.
  • Provide expert advice on equipment, adaptations, and solutions that promote independence and safety.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload and deliver interventions within a 15-day service target.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers, contractors, housing services, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop person-centred intervention plans focused on achieving positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records, reports, and case documentation.
  • Contribute to the efficient delivery of Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy services.

Requirements

  • Professional

    Qualification:

    Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Adult Social Care

    Experience:

    Previous experience within Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy services.
  • Minor Aids and Adaptations Expertise: Strong knowledge of equipment provision, adaptations, and independence-focused interventions.
  • Caseload Management: Experience managing high-volume caseloads within a fast-paced environment.
  • Assessment

    Skills:

    Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong report-writing, interpersonal, and partnership-working skills.
  • Previous experience working within a Local Authority or community Occupational Therapy service.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge and experience of moving and handling assessments.
