About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will support the Chelsea Pensioners with their day-to-day care, helping them to feel safe, comfortable and respected. You will work as part of the Health and Wellbeing team, providing personal care, practical support and companionship, while helping Pensioners maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Pensioners with daily living, including personal care, mobility, meals and hydration.
  • Help Pensioners feel comfortable, respected and valued at all times.
  • Follow care plans, policies and procedures under the guidance of senior care staff.
  • Keep accurate daily records and report any concerns about a Pensioner’s wellbeing.
  • Support social activities and help Pensioners stay involved in hobbies and interests.
  • Respond promptly to calls for assistance and provide support when needed.
  • Welcome visitors and provide help in a friendly and professional way.
  • Help keep rooms, equipment and shared areas clean, tidy and safe.
  • Escort Pensioners to appointments, outings or visits when required.
  • Work flexibly across shift patterns as needed.

About You

You will be kind, reliable and caring, with a genuine interest in supporting older people. You will communicate well, work effectively as part of a team and stay calm under pressure. You will take pride in providing high standards of care and be willing to learn, follow guidance and work towards the Care Certificate or equivalent.
