We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Complementary Therapist to join our Inpatient Unit team. Working closely with the Physiotherapy Lead and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide safe, personalised complementary therapy interventions to support the comfort, wellbeing and quality of life of patients receiving palliative and end of life care. You will undertake holistic assessments, adapt treatments to meet complex needs, and contribute to the delivery of holistic, patient-centred care.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use your specialist skills to support patients and those important to them during a significant stage of their care journey. The post holder will provide complementary therapy treatments for patients within the Inpatient Unit, taking account of individual needs, preferences, consent and clinical presentation. Responsibilities include undertaking holistic assessments, identifying risks and contraindications, delivering treatments within scope of practice, maintaining accurate clinical records, and evaluating outcomes.
The role involves working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic care planning, communicating sensitively with patients and families, maintaining safe treatment environments, and contributing to service development, audit and continuous improvement activities.
North London Hospice has been providing compassionate care and support to local people since 1984. As a registered charity, we are dedicated to helping patients with life-limiting illnesses achieve the best possible quality of life, while supporting their families and carers through challenging times. Our services extend across North London and include our Inpatient Unit, community and specialist palliative care services, outpatient and wellbeing programmes, and patient and family support services.
We work alongside patients, families and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic, person-centred care that meets physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The best of life, at the end of life, for everyone.
