* About the role:
** We are hiring an
** Employee Relations Lead – UK
** to join BSI’s People function, reporting to the Global Head of Employee Relations.
BSI operates in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment where employment legislation and collective arrangements continuously evolve. This newly created leadership role will be responsible for delivering the employee relations strategy across the UK, ensuring compliance, consistency, and a high-quality people experience.
You will lead and develop a team of up to three ER Specialists, oversee all UK employee relations activity, and act as the senior subject matter expert across the region. Working closely with Centres of Excellence and global ER colleagues, you will drive sustainable operational plans, strengthen governance, and embed consistent frameworks across the UK.

* Key Responsibilities:
*** Implement the UK employee relations strategy, translating global direction into sustainable operational plans.
* Provide expert guidance on complex ER matters including organisational design, restructures, M&A activity, and collective consultation, balancing commercial needs with legal and regulatory obligations.
* Oversee all employee relations cases across the UK, ensuring robust, consistent, and high-quality case management end-to-end.
* Lead and develop a team of ER Specialists, driving performance, capability development, and high standards of delivery.
* Proactively manage the collective employee relations landscape, including engagement with Works Councils and unions where applicable.
* Deliver ER education and skills-building interventions to strengthen manager capability and reduce formal case volumes.
* Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to ensure consistent policy implementation and integration with wider people initiatives.
* Monitor and analyse case management data to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and reduce employee relations cases in line with targets.
* Maintain regional ER dashboards and reporting, providing insights to senior leadership.
* Identify opportunities for digitalisation and AI-enabled improvements in ER processes and documentation.
* Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, influencing decisions and shaping the future direction of ER across the UK.
** To be successful in the role, you will have:
*** Detailed knowledge of
** UK employment law
** and HR best practice, with broader international awareness advantageous.
* A strong track record of delivering employee relations leadership within a complex, global environment.
* Demonstrable experience overseeing complex ER cases and collective consultation activity (including Works Councils/unions).
* Experience building and embedding policies, frameworks, and governance from the ground up.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive change.
* Excellent analytical capability, able to interpret data and translate insight into strategic action.
* A commercially astute, solutions-focused mindset with resilience in fast-paced environments.
* Strong communication skills, able to convey complex matters with clarity and authority.
* Inclusive leadership capability, with experience developing and mobilising teams.
