Capel Manor College is looking to recruit a Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join its busy Human Resources Department.

The HR Advisor role is a generalist role, covering a range of HR activities, with a particular focus on employee relations and sickness absence management.

The post holder will play a key role in providing effective advice to support managers and employees. The role involves providing expert advice on attendance, performance and all employee relation matters, ensuring all casework is accurately documented and managed to a high standard. The postholder will also monitor and report on data available from activity and trends and will use the information to offer tailored training to managers.

The HR Advisor will also support other HR activities such as policy development, system maintenance and reporting.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to a wide range of people management activities. Experience managing complex employee relations cases and sickness absences would be advantageous. Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. They should have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines. They should be able to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and have the ability to deal with difficult issues in a sensitive way.

A CIPD qualification would be advantageous.

In the first instance, the role will initially be based on site at our Enfield campus. However, consideration may be given to basing the successful postholder at an alternative campus if it is closer to their home location.
