Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Greater London

Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.

Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.

We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.

The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.

If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.

Our Mission

We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefit ting society.

The Role

Board Intelligence’s People & Culture function is moving from a single generalist role carrying everything to a set of focused specialisms. The People Advisor owns the operational core of that function: policy application, employee relations casework, compensation benchmarking and engagement.

The role exists to give managers and employees fast, reliable, day-to-day support on employment matters — from onboarding through to sensitive employee relations casework — without every query needing to travel up the chain. You will work closely with the People & AI Enablement Partner to keep delivery consistent as the AI enablement agenda reshapes how the function operates.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants genuine ownership of cases from open to close, who reads employment law carefully, and who would rather build a manager’s confidence than quietly take the problem off their hands.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations, risk and compliance cases (probation, performance, grievance, disciplinary) end to end across the UK, with support to Sweden and Denmark, applying the right jurisdictional employment law and without escalating standard cases.
  • Work with our ER lawyer in Sweden where Nordic matters require specialist input.
  • Interpret people policies (probation, leave, flexible working) with judgement, escalating genuine ambiguity rather than defaulting every query upward.
  • Keep policy documentation current and written in language managers can act on without needing it interpreted first.
  • Own office safety compliance.
  • Own compensation benchmarking, ensuring pay decisions are grounded in current market data rather than precedent.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs, ensuring changes are accurate, on time and traceable.
  • Share ownership of Career Pathways with the PX Advisor, ensuring career development conversations are consistent regardless of who is leading them.
  • Own day-to-day employee engagement activity, turning survey themes into visible, practical action for managers and teams.
  • Partner directly with line managers to build their confidence handling day-to-day people issues, reducing dependency on P&C for routine matters.
  • Act as a visible culture champion across the London office.

Person Specification

This role suits an HR generalist who has already carried real casework on their own and wants the breadth of a specialist remit without losing the hands-on work. You are comfortable operating without a large support structure, confident making the calls that…
