Junior Cloud (Dev Ops) Engineer

We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Junior AWS Dev Ops Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Dev Ops principles
, a strong interest in Amazon Web Services (AWS), and either relevant cloud certification or practical experience in cloud environments. You'll work closely with development and operations teams to automate, deploy, and monitor our cloud-native applications.
- AWS Infrastructure Support: Assist in the provisioning, management, and maintenance of core AWS services (
EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM
) following established best practices. - CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Contribute to the development, configuration, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline/Code Build
. - Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain automation scripts (using Bash, Python, or Power Shell
) to eliminate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Work with Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation templates to manage and provision infrastructure resources in a repeatable and version-controlled manner.
- Monitoring and Logging: Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS Cloud Watch and other tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health and performance.
- Containerization: Assist with the management and deployment of containerized applications using Docker and, ideally, basic knowledge of orchestration tools like Kubernetes or AWS ECS/EKS
. - Troubleshooting: Participate in the on-call rotation (with senior guidance) and help troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues quickly.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Create and update technical documentation for systems, processes, and deployment procedures.
Skills and Qualifications Essential
- Cloud Foundation: Demonstrated hands-on experience (e.g., in a lab, project, or professional setting) or completion of a relevant course/bootcamp focused on AWS
. - Scripting: Basic to intermediate proficiency in at least one scripting language (
Bash/Shell, Python, or Power Shell
) for automation tasks. - Version Control: Strong experience with Git (e.g., branching, merging, pull requests) and familiarity with platforms like Git Hub, Git Lab, or Bitbucket.
- Linux Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line interface (CLI) operations.
- Networking Basics: Foundational knowledge of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, firewalls).
- AWS Certification: An active foundational-level certification, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or, preferably, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Developer – Associate
. - IaC Exposure: Familiarity with Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation
. - Containerization: Basic understanding of Docker
.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field;
OR equivalent practical work experience/certifications.
