Senior User Researcher IIR

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior User Researcher to join a large, public-sector programme supporting a nationally significant organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping services through high-quality user research, influencing design decisions, and clearly communicating insights to stakeholders with varying levels of design maturity.

  6 months initially, with potential extension
• Rate:
  Up to £575 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location:
  
  Hybrid, London (occasional office attendance desirable but not essential)
• Clearance:
  Active SC clearance required
• Collaborative environment with other experienced researchers and delivery professionals

• Proven experience as a User Researcher working on complex digital services
• Strong background in generative and evaluative research, including discovery and alpha phases
• Ability to independently plan, conduct, analyse, and synthesise research
• Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to translate insights into clear, compelling narratives
• Experience producing artefacts such as journey maps, service blueprints, and as-is/to-be diagrams
• Confidence presenting findings to stakeholders with mixed levels of user‑centred design maturity
• Experience working within GDS-aligned environments and contributing to service assessments
• Strong qualitative research skills, with exposure to quantitative methods and desk research
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy delivery pipeline
• Salesforce experience is strongly preferred; broader SaaS platform experience is essential
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Active SC clearance and right to work in the UK
