Summary

Allen Lane is proud to be supporting the Serious Fraud Office in their search for a Service Administrator.

You will join the SFO's Information Management & Systems team who provide an application management service for iBase, an SQL based database application (officially called i2 Group), to the operating Divisions using it, which total some 180 staff members. The SFO utilises iBase and ANB primarily for capturing, organising, and interrogating its intelligence records.

There is a small working group that you will run, of key users and data owners who help to define, prioritise, and implement agreed changes. You will have opportunities to scope, design, and deliver activities to make amendments to our database design, user interface and security model. You will also be expected to administer access security and other maintenance tasks. Our Digital Systems Manager, who you would report to, is responsible for a broad range of systems that support our investigation and prosecution of economic crime, as well as our more standard corporate systems.

Essential

Skills and Experience
  • Experience of providing database application support, or acting as a designer or administrator for iBase, or other SQL based application
  • Able to operate a rigorous system of change control, for application change, or data changes such as the bulk loading of business records.
  • Experience of gathering and documenting user requirements from multi-disciplined teams and translating these to communicate with technical and non-technical staff, to ensure a common understanding.
  • Demonstrable experience of handling data in SQL databases, including data migrations and constructing queries and reports
  • Experience of organising and conducting necessary testing of changes made.
  • Confident to conduct training and provide guidance to end users, either on a one-to-one basis or in a classroom style environment
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills for Data manipulation and pivot tables
  • Familiarity with designing relational database tables.
  • Experience of administering the required access security for a role- based business application and or Active Directory maintenance
  • Skilled at extracting, analysing and interpreting data, and producing reports based on it, using a Business reporting tool
