We’re seeking a Data Governance Analyst (Grade
9) to join our growing Data Governance team. In this newly created role, you will help develop and embed the frameworks, standards and processes that ensure Elexon manages data accurately, securely and in line with regulatory requirements. You will work across the organisation to improve data quality
, strengthen access governance and support our expanding responsibilities as a processor of personal and energy data.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how Elexon governs and uses data at a time of major change, including the introduction of half hourly smart meter data and the launch of the Smart Data Repository.

• Support the development of data governance frameworks
  , policies
  , standards and processes
• Coordinate the Data Protection Steering Group
  , including minutes, actions and reporting
• Investigate and help resolve data quality issues across key systems
• Support access management processes, including privileged identity management
• Work with Data Owners and Data Stewards to monitor and manage data access
• Track and report data governance risks
• Support data literacy initiatives and internal communications
• Maintain data governance metrics and prepare clear reports for senior stakeholders

• Knowledge of data governance principles and good data management practice
• Experience supporting technology
  , data or cross‑functional projects
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Clear communication skills, able to explain complex data concepts
• Ability to build strong relationships across teams
• Familiarity with GDPR and data protection best practice
• Experience with data governance tools such as data catalogues
• Experience developing data governance frameworks or standards
• Knowledge of data quality techniques or data lifecycle management
• Exposure to access management or information security processes
• Understanding of the energy or utilities sector

• Up to £41,500 salary
