Reporting to: Head of Data, Analytics & Business Analysis
Salary Range: £120,000
We’re working with a leading UK investment banking organisation looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst to support critical initiatives across equities trading, investment banking and data platforms.
This role sits at the heart of front-office, operations and technology, translating complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions. A key part of the remit includes contributing to AI-led initiatives, from early concept through to delivery and ongoing optimisation.
Responsibilities
- Partner with front-office, operations and technology teams to define and deliver complex business and system requirements
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications
- Support initiatives across trading platforms, investment banking workflows and client services
- Contribute to AI-related projects, helping assess suitability, scope and value of AI solutions
- Facilitate workshops, design sessions and stakeholder forums across senior audiences
- Act as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities and outcomes
- Support delivery through the full SDLC, including testing, UAT, defect management and handover
- Perform data analysis to validate requirements, support decision-making and ensure data quality
- Produce clear documentation covering current-state, target-state and process flows
- Support regulatory alignment and operate in line with relevant conduct and governance standards
Requirements (Condensed)
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst within investment banking or financial services
- Exposure to equities trading and/or investment banking workflows
- Proven stakeholder management skills across business and technology
- Experience delivering technology change across Agile and/or Waterfall environments
- Understanding of data, systems integration and SDLC best practice
- Awareness of AI / automation use cases within financial services preferred
- SQL and general systems knowledge beneficial
