Senior Communications Manager - UK Press & Public Affairs
12-Month Contract | £71,000 | Hybrid - 3 Days per Week, King's Cross
An internationally recognised technology organisation is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to support its UK press office. This is a high-visibility role operating at the intersection of media, public policy and corporate communications.
You will be embedded within a lean UK team, partnering closely with EMEA and global communications, policy and legal stakeholders. The environment is fast-moving, reactive and politically sensitive. This role is suited to someone who thrives under scrutiny and can operate with precision at pace.
Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery of a busy UK press office, managing both reactive and proactive media activity
- Draft statements, op-eds, social content and newsroom copy
- Manage high-priority inbound media enquiries with speed and sound judgement
- Build and maintain relationships with tier 1 UK media
- Partner cross-functionally with Policy, Legal and Community Operations teams
- Work alongside external agencies to drive proactive announcements and narrative positioning
- Translate complex global policies into clear UK-facing messaging
- 5-8 years' experience in a corporate press office, ideally within technology or high-profile consumer brands
- Strong UK media network, particularly across national and business press
- Experience working with policy-sensitive issues and senior internal stakeholders
Demonstrable crisis and reactive press management experience - Proven ability to operate across multiple global teams simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance output and efficiency
- Exposure to complex, globally significant issues
- Direct ownership within a lean UK structure
- Strategic influence across policy-driven narratives
- High-profile media engagement
