As a Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll build and deploy product modules locally and remotely, improving customer experience through integrations, issue resolution, and reliable updates.

London Technical

Pangaea Data (Pangaea) is a South San Francisco and London based business founded by Dr Vibhor Gupta and Prof Yike Guo (Director Data Science Institute at Imperial College London; Provost, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). They have worked in medicine and computing for over 20 years and have raised over $300 million through their academic research, including a $110 million grant focused on development work on large language models in medicine.

Pangaea’s AI platform is configured on clinical guidelines to find more untreated (undiagnosed, miscoded, at-risk) and under-treated patients with hard-to-diagnose conditions for screening and treatment at the point of care. Pangaea’s advisors include industry veterans from healthcare and the life sciences, including Lord David Prior (former chairman, NHS England) and Mr. Andy Palmer (former CIO, Novartis).

The Role

As Dev Ops Engineer, you will design, automate, and operate secure deployments of our healthcare software platform across on-premise environments at healthcare providers, as well as cloud and hybrid infrastructure. You’ll work closely with engineering, security, and hospital IT teams to deliver reliable, compliant releases within strict networking, privacy, and regulatory constraints. Please not that this role is based full-time in London, UK.

Key

Technical Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end deployment strategy for healthcare provider on‑prem, private cloud, and public cloud environments (hybrid-ready).
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for repeatable, versioned releases (including rollback and change control).
  • Package and deploy the platform using containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) or VM-based options when required.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation (e.g., Azure ARM, Terraform) for environments, networking, and configuration.
  • Implement secure configuration management: TLS, secrets management, certificate rotation, RBAC/IAM, and least-privilege access.
  • Design for hospital constraints: restricted egress, proxies, air‑gapped networks, network segmentation, and strict firewall rules.
  • Set up observability: metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and on-call runbooks.
  • Establish reliability practices: backup/restore, disaster recovery, capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident response.
  • Produce clear deployment documentation for internal teams and customer/hospital IT (install guides, upgrade guides, SOPs).
Requirements
  • Experience owning end-to-end delivery from code to production (build, release, rollback, monitor).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Experience shipping a multi-service stack (Python/FastAPI + Next.js) with consistent CI/CD, versioning, and rollbacks.
  • Ability to read/debug application code to unblock build, config, and runtime issues.
  • Hands-on with both container and VM-based deployments (Docker; systemd/nginx).
  • Comfortable operating across varied hospital environments (on‑prem, cloud, hybrid).
  • Solid networking knowledge (DNS, TLS, reverse proxies, load balancing, firewalls).
  • CI/CD experience (Git Hub Actions/Git Lab CI/Jenkins) and release automation.
  • Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management experience (Azure ARM, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong security practices (secrets, certificates, IAM/RBAC, patching, auditing).
  • Build observability and runbooks (logs, metrics, alerts, incident response).
  • Design for restricted networks (proxy, no egress, air‑gapped where needed).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems and FHIR standards
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and security controls
  • Experience deploying to hospital on-premises environments or health system data centers
  • Familiarity with Mongo

    DB, Postgre
