Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Overview

You'll be joining as a Senior, hands-on Cloud & Information Security Engineer for an urgent contract engagement to take ownership of cloud security and technical information security in a regulated environment

This is a delivery-first role
, not advisory. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing and operating secure cloud infrastructure and security controls that will stand up to audit and regulatory scrutiny
, with clear handover at the end of the engagement.

• Ownership of day-to-day technical information security controls
• Secure cloud infrastructure design and build (AWS preferred) using security-by-design
• IAM enforcement (least privilege, MFA, segregation of duties)
• Centralised security logging, monitoring, alerting and vulnerability management
• Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management and automation
• Secure networking, encryption, backup and resilience
• Technical leadership of pen testing, vulnerability scans and remediation
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure change management
• Produce clear technical documentation and audit-ready evidence
• Act as technical lead during security incidents

• 5–8+ years hands-on cloud engineering & information security experience
• Strong AWS or Azure experience (one primary cloud, end-to-end ownership)
• Deep IAM, networking and cloud security implementation experience
• Infrastructure-as-Code and automation mindset
• Practical application of ISO 27001 / NIST
• Experience operating in regulated or audit-driven environments
• Comfortable working independently and delivering at pace
• Security or cloud certifications are beneficial, but not essential
