The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior UX Designer to join our External Relations Directorate. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and enhancing digital experiences across web and mobile platforms, ensuring they are intuitive, accessible, and engaging for our diverse audiences. You will lead UX projects from research and prototyping to usability testing and validation, utilizing your expertise to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders within an Agile/Scrum environment, you will create user‑centered solutions that align with the university’s strategic goals. Your work will directly influence how students, staff, and external partners interact with our digital services, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent professional experience supported by a comprehensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in research, problem‑solving, and visual design. Extensive experience as a UX Designer, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and delivering effective digital solutions, is essential. Strong knowledge of UX methodologies, user research techniques, and familiarity with tools such as Figma for prototyping and wire framing are required.
Additionally, experience with front‑end technologies like CSS and JavaScript to support development and optimize performance is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders confidently, and a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Lead end‑to‑end UX design projects, including conducting user research, creating prototypes, and performing usability testing to validate design decisions.
- Utilize UX testing tools such as A/B testing, tree testing, card sorting, surveys, and moderated/unmoderated sessions to gather insights and inform design iterations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to develop user‑centered digital solutions that meet business and user needs.
- Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and wireframes using tools like Figma to ensure consistency across digital platforms.
- Apply knowledge of front‑end technologies, including CSS and JavaScript, to support the development process and enhance performance.
- Advocate for accessibility standards and inclusive design principles to ensure digital content is usable by all users.
- Present design concepts and rationale confidently to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging UX trends, tools, and best practices to continuously elevate the quality of digital experiences.
