Desktop Support Engineer | £40k-£50k | On-Site | London | Professional Services
Our client is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to deliver 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support across their London office, while also remotely supporting other global locations.
You’ll work closely with a London-based Systems Administrator and collaborate with global IT teams across the US and Singapore to ensure seamless IT operations across the UK and EU.
This is a hands‑on, technically broad role ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and being a trusted technical partner to the business.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Provide 1st–3rd line support across business systems and applications
- Act as the first point of contact for the IT Helpdesk, ensuring SLA adherence
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents efficiently, escalating where necessary
- Maintain clear documentation of processes and issue resolution
- Deploy, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Manage Windows 10/11 installations, updates, patching, and troubleshooting
- Manage Active Directory (Users, Groups, OUs, GPO, NTFS permissions, DFS)
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint)
- Maintain Windows Server environments including DHCP, DNS, print services, DFS
- Support hybrid Microsoft 365 setups
- Assist with LAN/WAN troubleshooting, VLANs, Wi‑Fi, switches, routers, and VPNs
- Support audio‑visual systems and meeting room technology
- Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience & Technical Skills
- 3–5 years’ experience across 1st–3rd line IT support
- Strong Windows 10/11 deployment and troubleshooting expertise
- Solid experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 hybrid environments
- Basic understanding of IT security best practices and endpoint protection
- Power Shell scripting knowledge (desirable)
- Experience supporting AV and meeting room technology
- Strong communicator with a professional, client‑facing approach
- Organised and able to prioritise effectively under pressure
- Comfortable working independently and within a global IT team
- Curious and eager to expand technical expertise
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and ownership‑driven
